Heh, well it's actually kind of easy to guess it if you're a Kollias fan, he's got some favourite numbers: 200 bpm, 240 bpm (well, obvious reasons :P), 256 bpm, 265 bpm and 270 bpm. Most of Nile's stuff is played on one or more of these tempos or triplet versions of them and once you listened to them for a number of times you can usually tell by ear which one of them you're hearing at one time.

Concerning Sab Charunas's question: I suppose it's a matter of feel when you play. I mean, the tempo change, when you write the song, is a result of your feeling and not viceversa. So the tempos will be numbers that you are more or less comfortable with, either physically or because the song sort of requires it to be like that, in your mind. I doubt it's just 'any number'.

i agree .. i'd imagine it would just sound like a lawnmower engine about 270-280.. i'd watch vids and drool like a special person who got into a pile of alka-seltzer.. but I don't think it'd sound all that great
