And now for something completely different.

I tried to downsize... So I managed to get one tom out and a second snare in!

as for now, i would suggest , that you move the 2 tom to the middle of the snare, so that the snare is between them, then put the ride between hanging toms and floor toms. That should be possible with 2 multi clamps attached to the cymbal stand which is now holding your splash. get the left crash way more left to the hihat, and the right crash way more right, each of the crashes just at the side of the 2 toms.

I dont say this because i would prefer it like that, its just the way it is: the better you can reach everything, the better you can play! your current setup would totally freak me out dude Get those 2 Multiclamps and move your toms! That will feel ALOT better and its not expensive!

I know, bad example, but check this to get the Idea:

Thanks for the advice! My set is alot like Chris Adler of Lamb of God's i realized, and what you mentioned is also the way he had it. I never thought getting multiclamps would be able to hold the toms, but now that you mention it, it would totally work and be cheaper than a rack. And i agree it would make alot of things easier due to the reach.

i darkened it up but it looks pretty shitty, but whom cares

judging your cymbalstand, it think would be able to hold the toms, just spread the legs of the stand alot, so the weight on the one end doesnt make it fall over. just try it with the multiclamps.. i dont know the prices in the US, but my guess would be around 25-30 $ for the 2 ? if finally its not as stable as desired, you can still go with a doubletom stand, which should still be way cheaper than a rack

i found an old pic of my drumset, how i had it when i got it, without the second bassdrum yet. here its only a splash mounted, and its a 3 way stand, from yamaha, but generally its the same.

Go with the multiclamps, like you said wayy cheaper and they take up less space. Check out the Pearl multiclamps, ive got 2 of them (on the same stand) and I havent had any problems with them.

Yeah, I do the same as well. Clamped them onto a heavy stand like DW, supports 2 toms and any size crash. It's fast to set them up too.

hey guys,
heres some pics of my kit, i've been playing for a bit more than a year.
kit is a Pearl Forum FZ 9 piece, it came with the pearl cymbals and i also have Paiste Rude Crash/Ride's in 17 inch and 19 inch. things i have changed are evans st dry and hazy 300 on snare. evans g2 coated on the 10", 12", and 14" toms. remo encore powerstrokes on bass (i bought these off the net thinking they were remo powerstroke 3's),
all the hardware came with the kit but i have bought a pearl multi clamp and a cymbal boom arm. future purchases will be more cymbals, and another multi clamp and a few boom arms (these work very well and save space)
any questions / tips just let us know. enjoy. Cheers Jesse.
