Well I sure hope placing the trigger on top will solve the problem( Hadn't had a chance to try it yet cause the trigger is at the rehearsal place of my band hopefully gonna try it tomorrow) and that it's not the same problem as liquidknowledg3. The good news is that it has worked its just that it keeps moving around...anyway I will keep you guys updated.

I have my bass drum trigger (same kind, same module as well) on the corner, actually. It doesn't move around and it picks up all my kicks just fine. As long as it's tight enough and it's reading your kicks and not over triggering, you're fine. Sometimes that can be due to the area of the head you place it on, but it's usually just your settings on the module itself.

As for the drums themselves, I never trigger them really...but when I do, I also put those on the corners, kind of in relation to where they are on the drum kit. (High tom-top left, mid tom-top, low tom-top right, etc.)

Let me know if you're having any issues though and maybe I can help you out with either my settings, or just triggering in general though I doubt I know as much as some of the other guys on here.

Okay so..I got my trigger and module back home today, I've put it on the top of the bassdrum and messed around with the tension of the screw a bit and it doesn't move anymore!!!(Thanks again Furious Blaster)

So I messed around with the settings on the module a bit more and I am very close to getting them perfect. It triggers all the strokes except when I play faster stuff it occasionally doesn't trigger a stroke or two but I think I'm almost there.

Just one more question: Would muffeling my bassdrum more help it trigger better ?

Thanks!!

I don't want to be "that guy", but just play with more power if that's the issue.

I'm pretty sure playing with more power is not the issue. I get lots of power out of a stroke. If I would have read my post and it wasn't mine yeah I would have probably thought also that power was the issue but trust me thats not it. I think its a matter of messing around with the settings just a bit more and I'll get there.

Your welcome bro! glad that helped out! , just like phile said, you just need to tight the head at a medium tention not tooo tight, but just enough for the bass head to not get too lose when your playing depends on how hard you hit to, i muffled my bass drum with some towels and a little pillow but i may take those out after i fully test the triggers out and see how they perform with my current setup!

Cheers!

ya i also have the exact same setup. Single bass drum and i dont have any problems now that ive adjusted it. I put my trigger in the top left corner of my bass drum. Its secure but i dont over tighten it so the pad is completely mashed into the head its like half way if you what im saying. my dm5 settings are if i can remember, gain 92, decay 21, xtalk 80 nois 80, vcurve 7. I use the speed metal cuz its about the only one that sounds good haha imo. I muffle my bassdrum up the ass but only because i like the dead feeling you really dont need all the much muffling its your module settings that make the big difference. If your trigger isnt picking up hits when you play real fast try lowering your decay i also raised my gain a bit and that worked but im not a super hard hitter

Okay a little bit late I know but I thought I'd share it.

I never got my Ddrum kicktrigger to work properly and it turned out the blue wire was loose!! Non of this had to do with module settings, placing the trigger or me not playing right. Finally got it made yesterday by a friend of mine (wasn't difficult but I had no idea how to do it, but he learns about that stuff in school) and it works great now, having no problems at all.

So I had the same experience as you had several times but I got lucky and mine could be fixed. I think it's ridiculous that Ddrum treates their customers like this.
